Royalty & Court


The Borderlands is separated into many Kingdoms, each with their own Sovereignty. 

Whilst each Kingdom will have its own unique customs, there are strict rules & protocols regarding the Royal Families and Court that are adhered to as Standard.

The Royal Family

POSITIONS


THE KEY ROYALS


This is the term used Eall'wyye-wide to describe the higher-echelons of the Royal Family. This tight inner circle of The Royal Family will consist of the Direct Family, and close extended family allowed in by earned and absolute trust

The Key Family Members will be those who are of the highest ranking, and generally part of the Direct Family of the Sovereign and within their immediate family.

The Key Royals hold the highest levels of power, under the Sovereign's, and are often sent as envoys, an extension of the Sovereign's arm, to important meetings, to visit towns or cities, to acquiesce to 

  • King / Queen - The Sovereign Monarch of a Kingdom
  • King / Queen Consort - The Designated Partner, Husband/Wife, of the Sovereign 
  • Crown Prince/Princess - The Designated Heir to the King or Queen, to take their role upon the Abdication or Death of the Sovereign Monarch, to become King or Queen themselves
  • Prince/Princess Regent - The Heir Apparent stepping in to fulfil the role of an absent Sovereign Monarch, in the event of being incapacitated due to illness; to which the illness either does not allow for abdication or isn't requested/required
  • Royal Grand Princess - Next Royal Female Relative, after the Heir Apparent



OTHER ROYALS


The Other Royals of the Court can include any other direct family members who are of direct linage from a current or former Sovereign, within two generations.

Other Princes & Princesses of the Royal Court - The lower hierarchy of Princes/Princesses do not hold the same level of power as their higher counterparts, but they are expected at Court as part of the Royal Family and their duties. 

Aristocracy - Aristocrats are the extended family of Royals outside the main Royal line.


OFFICIAL FORMAL ADDRESS


The Sovereign is to be addressed as "Your Majesty". A King can also be addressed as "Sire", "My King" or "My Liege" during conversation. 

A Queen is to be addressed as "Your Majesty". A Queen can also be addressed as "My Queen" during conversations.

Crown Prince & Princess are addressed as "Your Highness", or "Your Royal Highness".

Royal Grand Princess is also addressed as "Your Highness", or "Your Royal Highness".

All Other Princes and Princess, and Aristocrats, are addressed as "My Lord" and "My Lady", respectively.


Specific Grammar

When addressing Specific Royal Persons or a Kingdom and/or its Royal designations in writing, adjectives and nouns revolving around them are to be Capitalised
